Despite its many advantages, there can be some design issues when contemplating the use of Neodymium magnets. Neodymium magnets can be susceptible to demagnetization if exposed to extreme temperatures. Neodymium magnets also have a high iron content, which makes them susceptible to oxidation. However, this is easily overcome by implementing a variety of coatings or surface treatments that will adequately protect against corrosion.
